E-learning MBA Program

Many colleges and universities from all over the world offer some sort of e-learning MBA program which can also be called distance learning. These programs offer people from all walks of life and from virtually anywhere in the world the opportunity to get an advanced degree in the time frame that works best for them.

Fire Proofing Your Job

Since these programs are very flexible and people can work at their own pace, this is the perfect option for a busy parent or an overworked employee. We have all learned that we really don’t have the job security that we once thought we had, it’s always best to get as much knowledge and education as possible so you can make yourself indispensable to your employer. That is the surest way to make yourself ‘fire’ proof.

When trying to find the perfect program for you and your needs there are several criteria that should be taken into consideration.

Here is a list of some of the factors you will want to consider when trying to narrow down your list of e-learning MBA program choices:

1. Cost. I hate to put this at the top of the list since in some ways it isn’t the most important factor, but no matter how good a program is, it won’t do you any good if you can’t afford it. The cost for an MBA program can vary widely. They usually start at around $24,000 and can go up to well over $100,000.

Another cost factor that you may need to consider is that some programs require you to travel to various cities around the world to complete a face to face conference as part of your curriculum.

2. Length of program. An MBA program can vary in length from as little as 15 months all the way up to 36 months. Of course, the shorter the program the more accelerated and difficult it will be so shorter may not be better.

3. Online vs. on campus. Some programs will be entirely online while others will require some sort of on campus (or traveling as explained above) time. This may help you determine where you start your search for a program.

If you are really short on time (and money) enrolling in a program half way around the world that will require you to go to that location for some of your classwork may become a major obstacle.

4. The reputation of the program. It won’t do you much good to receive a degree from a college or university that isn’t accredited. Before investing your time and money make sure that the program you are choosing will advance your career and will be recognized as a quality program.

For anyone who feels one of the surest ways to job security is by advancing their education, e-learning MBA program is a great option. Finding the right program will offer you the flexibility you need to get an MBA all while still working full time and being a part of your family.
