Online MBA No GMAT

For anyone who is interested in getting their MBA one common practice is to have to take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) in order to get accepted into a business school. Since the economy has changed and the job market with it, more and more schools are relaxing their requirements. There are online MBA no GMAT programs.

More and more of the top notch schools are changing their admissions policies. Starting in 2012 even schools like Harvard are letting applicants use either the GMAT or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores.

With such a prestigious school as Harvard making these changes many other schools will soon follow suit. In 2009 over 200 top business schools would accept GRE scores for admittance into their MBA programs.

Out of these 200 + schools 5 of them were in the top 10 internationally ranked MBA programs, so you don’t have to worry about having to settle for a second tier school.

Other schools will waive the requirement if the applicant can provide proof of extensive educational and / or professional experience. Other schools, such as UCLA, waive GMAT requirements for any applicant who has a graduate degree in another area or who has a job with quantitative skills.

For example, the Kenan – Flagler School of Business at the University of South Carolina does require a GMAT, the requirement will be waived, however, if the applicant has an advanced degree or has a technical job.

The GMAT waiver is more common for MBA executive programs that admit only management or technical job applicants.

Other online programs that allow admittance to their MBA program without a GMAT are DeVry University, Herzing University online and Kaplan University. These online programs understand that students would rather spend their limited funds on tuition rather than having to jump through hoops and spend money on standardized tests.

The GMAT used to be considered to be a “good predictor of success in the graduate management program” according to Louis Lavelle’s article “No GMAT? No problem, says Harvard” that appeared in Business week.

The job market is not the only thing that is more competitive than ever. Admissions to business schools is on the increase and they all want to get their share of the pie. That is the reason that more schools are trying to accommodate the changing needs of their students by offering online programs and increasing the flexibility of those programs.

If you want to advance your career, or even start your career off on the right foot, finding the best MBA program for you is the number 1 step you must take. Keep in mind that there are a lot of variables to consider such as time, location, cost, etc.

If you are concerned about the GMAT requirements, you don’t need to be. A growing trend is to be more flexible in admittance requirements. There are a lot of universities (and that number is growing) that have
