The economy has been a wake up call to many of us. People who thought that their job was secure woke up to find themselves ‘downsized’. Today, one edge to put you ahead of the game is to increase your skill sets.

There are a lot of options in the type of distance learning . Their is a wide variation in price, length of the course, how much on campus time you will have to spend and cost. All of these variables will have to be carefully considered before you choose a program.

Some programs are all online and the interaction can be done via chat and messaging. Others will require you to travel to the campus for a little time, usually around a week or two. Still others, will hold conferences all over the world. This is an important factor in your decision making process since you will need to factor in travel time and expenses into the overall program cost.

Cost is another major consideration. There is a wide range of prices for a MBA program. They can be relatively inexpensive and cost around $24,000 all the way up to costing well over $100,000. Again, you may need to factor traveling costs into that number as well as time missed from work.

The amount of time it will take to complete the program is yet another consideration. Some advanced programs can be completed in as little as 15 months while others can take as long as three years. Again, the choice is yours.

Many universities and colleges from all over the world offer some form of distance , but not all. You will want to narrow down your search for the universities and colleges that you are interested in attending to see if they offer the program you would like to enter.

There are different criteria for being accepted into the programs for the various universities. The basic is that you will need to have a bachelors degree. Others will require some type of on the job training before you can be admitted to the program.
